John was instrumental in my joining Round Table when he hosted a party for prospective members and we have remained friends for 40+ years. John was a truly genuine guy who never had a bad word for anyone. He was kind, trusting and generous and had a great sense of humour. We will long remember the parties on the Green that John generously hosted. He will be sorely missed by all. Our thoughts are with Elaine, James and Eleanor. Bob and Sue Matthews
